Lubbock Area Volunteer Fire Fighters Receive Grants

Volunteer fire fighters will get some relief from the county.

On Monday, Lubbock County Commissioners presented ten volunteer fire departments with checks totaling $58,000. The money was divided by the number of calls each department received over its five year average.

It will be used to help ease the burden of increased calls and rising fuel costs.
