Hasie Responds To Prosecutor's Motion To Reinstate Verdict

Prosecutors are asking U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings to reinstate the guilty verdict against Monte Hasie. Hasie is a former LISD trustee and former State Board of Education member.

In 2004, Hasie and three others, were accused of conspiring to defraud First State Bank and State National Bank of approximately two and a half million dollars from October 1999 through April 2001. Hasie was found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and then acquitted on March 13th.

On Tuesday, Hasie returned to court to file a response to the prosecutor's motion to reinstate the verdict. In the document, Hasie claims the government's motion is frivolous and should be denied.
