East Lubbock Fire Threatens Homes

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of a fire at an East Lubbock business.

It started just after 8:30 Tuesday night at a wood pallet business in the 4300 Block of 65th Street. Lubbock Fire Fighters responded even though it was outside the city limits because the fire posed a threat to a number of homes. Buffalo Springs Lake Fire Fighters were also at the scene.

Together, crews were able to contain the blaze within about 20 minutes, but remained on the scene for several hours to watch for hot spots.
