Animal Cruelty Suspect Arrested

A Shallowater man in now in the Lubbock County jail charged with four counts of animal cruelty.

43-year-old Terry Cook is accused of letting his dogs starve and then abandoning them. Cook was evicted from a mobile home just west of Shallowater last Friday. 15 dogs were found on the property without food or water. Investigators also found the remains of dogs that had already died.

Cook was arrested Thursday night and arraigned Friday morning. He's now being held on a $5,000 bond.
