South Plains Organization Rescues Thousands of Wild Animals

Every year one South Plains Organization is dedicated to rescuing thousand of wildlife. All morning NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta took us inside the South Plains Wild Life Rehabilitation Center. We met several different animals including Athena, a one-eyed screeching owl.

The center takes in animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Just call (806) 799-2142 for information.

Saturday, May 6th the center is holding a fundraiser at Llano Estacado from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 donation per person. Food, wine, and a silent auction featuring gift baskets just in time for Mother's Day, graduation and spring birthdays and anniversaries will be available.

Tickets available at the door, but reservations are suggested. Call Carol Lee at (806) 745-8120.
