For the first time in history, Lubbock drivers can drive from 34th to 92nd street. All they have to do is take the newly completed Milwaukee Avenue.
A ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, marked the opening of the roadway after months of construction. Mayor Pro Tem Tom Martin says, "This street will not only provide good north and south access for the citizens to drive across but it's already spurring a tremendous increase in our economic development activity."
It's the first major street to be built with concrete in Lubbock.
