Abortion Pill Not Responsible for Woman's Death

On Monday, the FDA decided that the RU-486 did not play a role in the recent death of a woman.

RU-486, better known as the abortion pill or morning after pill, had been prematurely blamed for the death. But now, they say for certain this first case was not due to the pill. Four women have died while taking RU-486, and officials are still investigating those other cases. But they already know each of those women did not follow instructions and took the pill in an off-label form. It is a pill you swallow and two of the women took the second dose vaginally even though it is not approved for that.

Bottom line, if you use the morning after pill, you must follow the directions carefully which includes a follow up exam in two weeks.
