It is official. The president of the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center is leaving Lubbock for Denver. After being named the sole finalist a month ago, regents at the University of Colorado voted unanimously to name Dr. Roy Wilson as the new chancellor there.
Dr. Wilson accepted but he says the decision is bittersweet. As chancellor, Dr. Wilson will have the opportunity now to lead the consolidated University of Colorado and the Health Sciences Center. Under his leadership here, the Health Sciences Center raised $38 million and launched a new pharmacy school in Abilene.
His position at the University of Colorado will be effective July 1, 2006.
