The city of Floydada is getting some help from the federal government.
The office of Rural Community Affairs and Representatives with U.S. Senator John Cornyn's office presented the city of Floydada with a grant Monday. The $100,000 grant is part of the Micro-Enterprise Fund.
"We have small businesses that may look to expand and not have the funds to add a new line or product or facilities and this is a way to help them get started," said Floydada Mayor Bob Gilliland.
Floydada was one of seven cities in Texas chosen for the grant.
