The watch Buddy Holly was wearing the night he died in a plane crash now has a new owner.
Hundreds came to Dallas this weekend to bid on the Lubbock native's memorabilia. A woman from San Francisco bought the watch for $155,350. Holly's wife, Maria Elena Holly gave him the diamond studded omega watch as a Christmas present in 1958.
"So it's a little bit you know...you have to let go sometime or another...and I think this is the best time," Buddy Holly's wife Maria Elena Holly said.
Another person bought Holly's passport for $26,000.
