Fire Burning At Lubbock City Landfill

Firefighters from three departments are struggling to gain control of a fire at the city landfill.

Black smoke first appeared on the north Lubbock skyline around 3:30 Monday afternoon. That's where a brush fire ignited a trash pile at the landfill. New Deal firefighters were first on the scene, followed by the Lubbock Fire Department. Shallowater joined the fight around 5pm.

As of 6pm the fire was still burning, watch NewsChannel 11 at Ten for the latest.
