Fire Finally Out At City Landfill

The fire at the city landfill is finally out. It started around 3:30 Monday afternoon. Investigators believe hot equipment may have ignited a wood fire, which then spread to the landfill. Fire fighters from Lubbock were monitoring it for most of the day, but now that it's just smoldering they decided it was safe to call everyone away.
