Police Department Sees Increase In Traffic Fatalities

Startling statistics serve as a reminder to drivers to slow down and pay attention.

The Lubbock Police Department reports traffic fatalities are up 400% this year. Since January, eleven people have died in traffic related crashes in Lubbock. This time, last year, there had only been three fatalities.

Out of the 11 deaths this year, four involved motorcycles, two were pedestrians and two involved drugs or alcohol.
