Lubbock Taser Investigation Gains Attention of ACLU

The American Civil Liberties Union says someone needs to show some accountability after a taser contributed to the death of a Lubbock man.

Juan Nunez III died April 16th, minutes after he was tased by a Lubbock Police officer who was responding to a domestic dispute. The ACLU commended the Lubbock Medical Examiner's Office, Wednesday, for citing the taser as one of the factors in Nunez's death.

"This was just a domestic dispute and it turned into a death. This is something we need to be concerned about, and something we need to find some accountability for," Harvey Madison, President of the Lubbock Chapter of the ACLU, said.

Out of 13 suspected taser deaths in Texas, the ACLU says this is only the second time a taser has been implicated in a death.

Autopsy Report Says Multiple Factors Contributed to Nunez Death
The autopsy report is in and the results show a police taser was one of the contributing factors that lead to the death of a Lubbock man last week. NewsChannel 11's Cecelia Coy brings us the details of the report.
