Nunez Family Hires Attorney To Investigate Death

A Lubbock attorney is now launching a private investigation into the death of Juan Nunez III.

Nunez died April 16h after being tased in the chest. An autopsy report showed the taser did contribute to Nunez's death, but added alcohol intoxication and blunt force trauma from a fall also played a role.

Daniel Hurley is now representing the Nunez family. He's requesting audio and dash board cameras from the incident. He's also asking the Lubbock Police Department to stop using tasers until a review of the weapon is complete.

The police are conducting their own investigation and will submit it to the attorney general's office. They say it appears the officer followed policy.
