Some familiar faces teed off for a cause Friday. You usually see David Thomas on the football field playing for the Longhorns. But Friday, Thomas was playing golf at Shadow Hills to raise money for his alma mater Frenship ISD. The tournament is a scholarship fundraiser. It comes just one day before Thomas will sit down and watch the NFL Draft with his family.
"It's a dream come true. Number one to go to Texas and to win a national title and the opportunity to play in the NFL, I'm just really fortunate, and really blessed to have these opportunities. Whatever happens tomorrow, happens, I'm just excited to have the changes. I'll be happy wherever I go," said University of Texas tight end David Thomas.
Thomas caught ten passes from Vince Young for 88 yards in the Rose Bowl last fall to lead UT to a national championship.
