New developments in the brutal stabbing death of a Lubbock woman. Her son, who first called 9-1-1 and claimed two intruders stabbed her, has now been arrested himself.
33-year-old John Otis Thornton is now in custody, for the alleged murder of his mother, 57-year-old Glenda Williams Thornton. Thornton lived with his mother, in the 3700 Block of East 4th Street. He told police that he chased two Hispanic men out of the house just after nine o'clock Sunday night, and when he returned, he found his mother on the floor suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Glenda Thornton was later pronounced dead at University Medical Center. Police tell NewsChannel 11, after further investigation, they found probable cause to arrest the victim's son, John Thornton. Formal charges are expected.
