Police Arrest One Man After Afternoon Stabbing

One man is in jail facing aggragated assault charges after stabbing another man.

Police 40-year-old David Brassfield and another man were arguing while they were doing some work on a house in the 4600 block of 40th Street just before four Saturday afternoon. Police say the first man swung a garden hoe at the Brassfield, Brassfield then grabbed a knife and stabbed the other man in the throat.

The stabbing victim ran off. EMS found him on the corner of 36th and Quaker and took him to the hospital.

Police arrested Brassfield, he now faces aggravated assault charges. He's in the Lubbock County Jail with bond set at five thousand dollars.  We're told the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
