Tornadoes Kill Three in North Texas

Tornadoes swept through rural North Texas Tuesday night, killing three people, hospitalizing ten and destroying at least 26 homes.

80-year-old Mary Ellen Newsom and 82-year-old Paul Harris Newsom were found dead in a destroyed mobile home in Westminster, located about 45 miles northeast of Dallas. We're told the town did not have a warning system.

In Grayson county, 14-year-old Colson Owens died when a chimney collapsed on a stairwell where he had taken shelter. Authorities say the path of the tornado that killed the teenager was as wide as 300 yards and eight miles in length. Some livestock, including two horses, were also killed in Grayson County.
