Governor Perry Signs Part of School Reform Bill - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Governor Rick Perry signed legislation Thursday that restructures the state business tax to help pay for public schools. The new law is expected to deliver a record $15.7 billion property tax reduction. Perry says the old tax system had loopholes that allowed businesses to avoid paying taxes.

The measure is one of five bills that were part of a school funding package, completed in special session.
