Lubbock Agencies Team Up To Recruit Foster Parents

Every month 130 kids are removed from abusive homes right here on the South Plains. These kids rely on foster families to give them a temporary home. But right now there is a shortage of foster parents. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta spent the morning telling us about an event to recruit foster parents.

Methodist Children's Home, Children's Protective Services, The Bair Foundation, Buckner Children's Home, CASA, Children's Home of Lubbock andLubbock Area Foster Parent Association are having an event this Saturday to tell people about foster and adoption opportunities.

Foster families will be on hand as well as entertainment, door prizes and activities for kids. Foster Fest is Saturday, May 20th from 11 a.m - 2 p.m. at Kastman Park, South Loop 289 & Indiana Avenue. The public is invited to this free event.
