Protesting at Military Funerals is Now Illegal in Texas

Protestors can no longer show up at military funerals.

Friday, Governor Rick Perry signed a bill into law which makes it a class B misdemeanor to protest within 500 feet of a funeral service. Senator Robert Duncan, of Lubbock, sponsored the bill after learning a group from Kansas disrupted a soldier's funeral in Dimmitt.

The new law takes effect immediately.
