Sunday Night Storms Bring Damaging Winds To Lubbock - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Sunday severe thunderstorms blew through the area, causing damage and power outages in the city. Winds reached 50 miles per hour in some parts. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta show us some of the aftermath.

The damage is apparent on East 18th Street, where you can see a tree blown into a yard. The strong winds also knocked power out Sunday night. About 200 Lubbock residents lost power for nearly 30 minutes. Many traffic lights were also out for a short time at 50th & Ave Q. and Slaton Rd. & MLK Ave. and 34th Street and the Interstate. No accidents were reported.
