Meningitis Vaccine Shortage

Eleven and twelve year olds will be able to avoid a shot at the doctor's office, at least for a while...that's because there is a shortage of the meningitis vaccine.

Apparently it's just a case of supply and demand. The company isn't making it fast enough to fill orders. So for now, the CDC is recommending that eleven and twelve year olds forego the shot until they enter high school. However, college freshmen living in dorms and others who are considered high risk should plan on getting vaccinated.
