Grand Jury Indicts Lubbock Pastor

Lubbock Co. Sheriff Lubbock Co. Sheriff

A Lubbock pastor is now one step closer to trial.

On Tuesday, a Lubbock Grand Jury indicted Royce Jimenez for indecency with a child. The 51-year-old is accused of fondling a 7-year-old boy that went to the Light of the World Christian Church in northwest Lubbock where Jimenez is a pastor. Police reports indicate the boy told his parents Jimenez took him to a V.A. clinic where they shared a bathroom stall and touched inappropriately.

As NewsChannel 11 was the first to tell you last Friday, the allegations have forced the state to shut down the Sonlight Daycare next to the church. Jimenez was a board member for both the church and the daycare.
