Biff The Bomb Dog Retires

He's been to the Winter Olympics, worked security for presidents, and helped dig up clues in a dozen Lubbock area death investigations. Now, Biff the bomb dog is retiring. Deputies at the Lubbock Sheriff's office were sad to see the K-9 go.

Biff and his handler, Lieutenant David Turner, made up the first ever K-9 bomb unit in Lubbock. After serving the city, state and country for six years, Biff's title has now officially changed from bomb dog to pet. Sheriff David Guiterrez says, "We are going to retire one of the finest K-9's ever to have graduated from the ATF and Explosives K-9 program."

Another K-9 will replace Biff. Her name is Iggy and she is expected to join the department in July.
