A car chase lasting nearly one hour ends with a man in jail. It all started around three Sunday morning in Hale Center near 9th St. and Avenue G. A DPS trooper was stopping Daniel Garcia of Plainview for not having his headlights on.
That's when Garcia sped off heading north toward Plainview. The car chase lasted almost 45 minutes. Garcia then crashed his car and started running. They finally arrested Garcia on FM 1424.
Garcia is now in jail in Plainview facing three charges: his third DWI, he's charged with assault with a deadly weapon, that's because during the chase he hit a Hale County Sheriff's car with his car. He also faces evading arrest with a vehicle, which is a state jail felony.
No one was injured during the pursuit.
