A teenager is in custody after allegedly breaking the glass at a Shell station in Wolfforth just after midnight Friday morning. A witness saw the teen throwing something into the store to break the window and carrying out stolen items. Officers chased the 16-year-old on foot into a cotton field where they were able to arrest him.
An officer injured his knee jumping over a fence during the chase but was released from the hospital just hours later. The teen faces charges of burglary and evading arrest with injury to an officer.
Wolfforth police are investigating whether another teen was involved.
