Power is back on in downtown Lubbock after Lubbock Power & Light says a transformer may have blown.
LP&L operations manager Dale Stevens says the power went out around 7pm Saturday and was back up within an hour.
The outage caused a loss of power to portions of downtown, including the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department and the Lubbock County Jail. Sheriff David Gutierrez says their backup generator started immediately, never missing a beat.
Their 911 calls however were forwarded to the Lubbock Police Department.
