FBI Releases Lubbock Crime Statistics - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The FBI says violent crime is on the rise across the country, but here in Lubbock, not all violent crimes are increasing.

FBI statistics show from 2004 to 2005, violent crimes in Lubbock went up by 200. Lubbock saw a significant drop in murders, down to 11 from 16. Lubbock did see an increase in rape and aggravated assault. Robberies increased by one and burglaries were up. Overall theft decreased in 2005 and vehicle theft jumped by 81 reports. Property crime decreased by 82 incidents from 2004 to 2005.
