Fireworks are Now On Sale but Some are Still Banned - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The countdown to the Fourth of July is on and you may have fireworks on the brain. Stands opened up this weekend in Lubbock County, but some popular items aren't for sale.

As we told you earlier in the week, Lubbock County commissioners banned bottle rockets and missiles with fins because of the extreme dry conditions. However, that's not stopping many from using fireworks all together.  

"We're just going to be with family, be out of the city limits, and keep water on hand and follow all the instructions on the fireworks," said one woman.

Again, bottle rockets and missiles with fins are banned this year. County commissioners hope the ban will cut down on the number of grassfire's in the county.
