Arnett Benson Residents Make Way For Future Development - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A north Lubbock neighborhood is saying yes to commercial development. Back in February, we told you 96 families in the Arnett Benson neighborhood may have to move from their homes to make room for commercial business along the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Council woman Linda Deleon held a number of town hall meetings on the matter and allowed residents to informally vote on different options. Monday, a public hearing was held at City Hall and Deleon tells us 99%of the residents who voted were in favor of the commercial option. However, no one is moving right now because a developer has yet to come in and purchase property.
