I am Janie Engle, the Administrator of Grace House.
I am a native of West Texas and graduated from Tahoka High School. In 1985, I followed my dream to work in Professional Wrestling and moved to San Antonio, TX. No, I'm not a wrestler - I worked in the office and did Event Coordination and Travel Planning. From there, I moved to Dallas and then on to Atlanta, still working in wrestling. When I arrived in Atlanta in 1989, I began a career at World Championship Wrestling which was owned by Ted Turner and Turner Broadcasting. While at WCW, I became Talent Relations Manager and I helped coordinate many events including fundraising for many charities. Thus, began my love for children and seniors.
In 2001, my journey took me to Tampa, FL, for another short venture in wrestling. From Tampa, I moved back to Dallas and took a course in Business Operations Management. From Dallas, I moved to Midland to manage a travel agency. And from Midland on to Salt Lake City to become Branch Manager of another travel agency.
In 2004, I was contacted by Hulk Hogan to move back to Florida to manage their business office. I also became a personal assistant to the Hogan family, including Ruth, Hulk's 85 year old mother. I would spend many days with Ruth, taking her to the doctor, the grocery store and just spending time with her.
I have traveled throughout the United States and Internationally and have had many wonderful opportunities in the Sports Entertainment industry. I have met many wonderful people and feel very privileged to have lived my life.
In June 2005, I decided it was time to return to West Texas to be closer to my family. My love for seniors brought me to Grace House in November 2005. While my job is to take care of the staff and residents, I find myself learning more and more everyday from our residents. I love to spend time with them, help them and listen to the stories from their lives.
