Whether you drive out of town or just around town, expect to pay more for gas this holiday weekend. The average price of gas in Lubbock is $2.87. Most of the Lubbockites we talked to say the price is keeping them home this Fourth of July. The ones who are traveling, say they're definitely feeling it. Here's a look at prices at the pump around the state. Lubbock and Dallas are averaging $2.87. Gas is as high as $2.95 in Amarillo and $2.93 in Houston. The cheapest gas right now is in Corpus Christi at $2.65 per gallon.
