Fireworks Ban Not Slowing Sales - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The Fourth of July is almost here, and Lubbockites have been stocking up on celebration tools.   Vendors tell us fireworks sales have been great this year.

You'll recall Lubbock County Commissioners banned bottle-rockets and missiles with fins because of the extremely dry conditions, however, that hasn't interfered with sales.  

Fireworks Vendor Betty Welch says, "we've had people ask, but it doesn't seem to bother them. They're just buying other stuff, so no it hasn't bothered us at all."

County commissioners hoped the ban would lower the number of grass fires in the county.
