Police Investigate Second Shooting In South Lubbock Neighborhood
Wednesday morning Lubbock authorities are investigating a second shooting in a South Central neighborhood. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta brings us the latest information.
One man is in serious condition after he was shot just before 3 a.m. at 1615 59th Street. Dozens of shell casings marked as evidence were still on the scene early Wednesday morning . Witnesses say a black man driving a red Lincoln drove by twice while opening fire outside of this South Lubbock residence.
Police are still looking for the suspect and the victim is being treated at University Medical Center. That's all the information we have at this point. Authorities will be giving a statement later Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, they can not confirm if Wednesday incident is related to Tuesday's shooting that took place just six blocks away. It happened just before noon at the Garden apartments at 65th and Avenue P. Police say the whole thing started with a fight. when someone started shooting into a crowd of bystanders. Three people were injured in the shooting. None of their injuries are considered life threatening. The suspect left the scene in a green Suburban.
