Just one alcoholic drink could be enough to make some people "blind drunk," that's according to a study at the University of Washington.
They gave the folks in the study one drink then had them watch a video of people tossing a ball and count each time the ball was passed. Then, in the middle of the video, a man in a gorilla suit walked in between the ball players. Turns out those who were mildly intoxicated were twice as likely to not even notice the gorilla.
The point of the study is that even after one drink, drivers can be "blind drunk" meaning less likely to see a person who steps into traffic. This phenomenon on known as "inattentional blindness." fourty study participants were involved.
