A group of Lubbock teenagers have created something for the entire city...a mural located in North Lubbock.
The Up and Coming Scholars, a local group of high school and junior high-aged teens, painted it over the past few weeks. The painting features West Texas legend Buddy Holly. Buddy's brother, Travis, was on hand Friday for the dedication ceremony.
"How awesome this mural is, it overcame any expectations I had. I know that generations will enjoy it for years to come," Holley said.
You can see it for yourself on the West wall of the Boys and Girls Club at 3301 Cornell Street.
