Houston Reports On Lubbock's Water Needs

Lubbock's water situation is making state news. On Sunday, the Houston Chronicle published an article about Lake Alan Henry. It explores the cost of building a pipeline, from the lake to Lubbock, and then compares that cost to what the city pays for water at Lake Meredith.

According to the article, it would cost about $3 more per 1,000 gallons to get water from Lake Alan Henry rather than Lake Meredith.

City Councilman Gary Boren is quoted in the paper, saying "The region's largest city can't have enough sources to quench its growing thirst."
