Child Injured In East Lubbock Shooting

A Lubbock boy is hospitalized after he was shot while someone else was playing with a gun.

The incident happened Monday night around 9:30 in the 1700 Block of East 2nd Street. Few details are known about the incident, but we do know the 11-year-old was shot with a shotgun. The other person playing with a gun, also believed to be a child, threw the gun in the backyard of another home.

Lubbock Police tell us they have since located the weapon. No word yet on the child's condition, we'll bring you the latest as it develops.
