An accident has taken the life of a Hockley County woman.
It happened just after 6:30 Wednesday night about 5 miles North of Levelland. DPS says 44-year-old Dominga Gomez Morado of Levelland was headed north on 385, when she crossed the road into oncoming traffic. The driver of a semi traveling in the opposite lane tried to pull onto the shoulder to avoid the car, but the car slammed into the rear axles of the semi. Morado was pronounced dead at the scene.
