You're not going to believe what women in L. A. are wearing to work out in... high heels. Dr. Timothy Charlton at the University of Southern California calls that high heel addiction. But he says there are practical solutions.
"I think high heels in moderation are ok. It's just like bad food. You can eat it once in a while, but you can't eat it every day," says Dr. Charlton.
Women who wear high heels can reduce foot pain if they do these things every day, toe crunches, calf stretches, and a heel massage. Remember our feet get wider as we get older. So, the width of a shoe is just as important as the length. That means we should take time every day to put aside the pointy shoes and try flip flops for a while.
