Pinocchio's Pizza Manager Shot In Robbery Attempt

Monday morning Lubbock police are looking for the gunman in a failed robbery attempt. NewsChannel 11's Suleika Acosta spent the morning uncovering the details.

The shooting happened inside the Pinocchio's Pizza tucked away in a small shopping center at 50th & University. Police tell us just before 11 o'clock Sunday night, a man wearing a ski mask walked in and demanded money from the safe. The man threatened the manager with a knife. When the manager said that he could not open the safe, the suspect shot him in the thigh and then fled the scene.

Police are searching for a tall, white man. He was last seen driving a white car, possibly a Chevy Lumina. If you have a tip that could help authorities, dial Crime Line at (806) 741-1000. Callers will remain anonymous.

The manager suffered only moderate injuries from the gun shot. Fortunately, the shooting happened after hours and no customers were inside.
