WalkAide: Helping Stroke Patients Walk

Sometimes stroke patients end up with a condition called "foot drop" where they have to relearn how to lift the foot to walk in a natural way.

But a new walk aid made by Innovative Neurotronics wraps around the upper part of the calf and it sends a mild electrical impulse stimulating the personal nerve which causes a flexing action of the ankle and that sort of kick starts the foot into that "lift" you want for a normal walk.

It's still under study. In fact, stroke patients are being recruited for more clinical trials. If you know someone who might be interested, Innovative Neurotronics information is available at (walkaide.com).
