Terri Beydoun's daughter Namet is trapped in Lebanon right now. She has lived there since she was nine. But now, more than ever before, Terri wants her daughter to return to America.
"I haven't been able to leave the house, I've just been watching television over and over, just flipping channels 24 hours a day," Beydoun said.
Namet lives in the port city of Sidon, which is 20 miles South of Beirut. Terri says the bombs have not struck her house, but they have gotten really close. While Namet and other Americans want to leave, Terri says all they can do is wait for directions from the American Embassy. In the meantime, Terri says she will pray that her daughter will find some way to get to Beirut.
"Leaving Beirut may be simple, but getting to Beirut is very difficult because the roads are bombed and the Israelis are still bombing," she said.
The last time Terri talked to her daughter was Monday morning, Namet told her she would wait by the phone, and Terri tells us she is waiting by the TV.
We'll continue to follow this family and hopefully our next story will be one about Namet's safety and their reunion.
