Traffic Commission Proposes Removal of Some Traffic Lights

If the Citizens Traffic Commission gets the green light, drivers will see fewer red lights in downtown Lubbock.

The Commission is considering removing traffic lights along Main Street at the following intersections: Avenue M, Avenue L, Avenue K, Texas Avenue and Buddy Holly Avenue. They want to install four-way stop signs instead.

The commission also wants to remove two signals at 13th and Avenue L and 13th and Avenue K and replace those with two-way stop signs.

A public hearing will take place September 19th before any changes are made.
