The 7-11 on the corner of 98th Street and Indiana Avenue dubbed "the luckiest store in town" finally received their share of the $36-million prize.
Friday, The Texas Lottery Commission visited the store at 98th and Indiana, to present management with a check for $362,000. That is exactly 1% of the jackpot won by a pool of Lubbock women two months ago.
District Manager, Ryan Suttles, says five employees will also receive an undisclosed amount. The rest will go into a general fund. "I had my zero in the wrong place when I was calculating (how much this store would get.) I was happy with $36,000. When I did the math, it was even better," Suttles said.
You may also remember, a seventh woman, Betty Domingo, is suing the six winners for not splitting the money with her. She claims, she has always been a part of the pool. But that day, she did not pitch in her own money to buy a ticket.
The suit will be decided in a Lubbock District Court. A date has not been set.
