HealthWise tonight, meet Dr. Steve Alley, Chief of Staff at the Crosbyton Clinic-Hospital. He says he had no reason to come to Crosbyton sixteen years ago except that it looked like a good place to raise a family and he wouldn't trade that for anything. All four of his girls have grown up in Crosbyton and Dr. Alley says he loves the small town practice although he learned very quickly that "small town" actually means bigger work load but greater satisfaction.
"A lot of hours and sometimes you get to sleep and sometimes you don't but this is the kind of place to be if you want to be needed. People miss you if you're gone. And that, for me, is one of the greatest rewards," said Dr. Alley.
We say trust in John. People out in Crosbyton say trust in Dr. Alley. He told me there was a dead cow on the road and one of his patients told him his daughter insisted they call Dr. Alley because she thought he would be able to fix the dead cow. That is trust.
