There are new developments in a story NewsChannel 11 has been following since June. That is when we told you Crosbyton city leaders were concerned because their main water source, White River Lake was extremely low. They speculate, there is only a year's supply of water left in the lake if they don't get any rain.
The mayor now tells us, there are plans to drill into a well field between Crosbyton and Ralls for more water if necessary.
In the meantime, Crosbyton Mayor Joe Hargrove also tells us the city is looking into new economic development options.
Hargrove says, "We have several miles of Caprock area. We would love to see some wind energy farm build there. We're looking into every aspect of that."
