New Projects and New Development In Seminole

When it comes to development, Seminole has a plan to give its economy a boost. It involves the construction of 300 new homes. The goal is to attract workers interested in relocating their families to a smaller town. Another project underway involves a natural resource everyone on the South Plains could use more of and that's water. Texas Tech is using Seminole as a test site to study the production of water through wind energy. The project is in the feasibility stages right now.

Seminole's Agriculture Ranks #1 Again, Keeping Economy Afloat
We're number one. That's what you'll hear in Seminole when talking about agriculture. Gaines County is on a winning streak when it comes to the amount of crops produced compared to the rest of the state. NewsChannel 11's Jennifer Vogel tell us it's that reason that the economy of Seminole will only get better from here.
